Founded in Zagreb, Croatia, in 2015, Regular Company is a multidisciplinary design studio built on friendship, curiosity, and a shared passion for beautiful, functional objects.
Its four founders – Ruđer Novak-Mikulić, Tihomir Filipec, Marija Ružić Vukmanić, and Marinko Murgić – first met as students at the School of Design in Zagreb. Their creative collaboration began in 2009, long before the studio officially existed.
“From an early age, we were fascinated by objects – how they’re made, how they feel, how they interact with space and people,” they recall. This curiosity naturally led them to furniture, where art and everyday functionality meet.
A defining moment came in 2011 with their collaboration with Artisan, a Bosnian furniture manufacturer known for its solid wood craftsmanship. Their participation in SaloneSatellite in Milan in 2017 and 2018 later opened doors to international collaborations with brands such as Frama, New Works, and Ferm Living.
Today, the studio’s work extends from furniture and interiors to branding, digital design, and even yachts. Regular Company remains committed to a simple philosophy: thoughtful design, honest materials, and timeless objects that quietly improve everyday life.

A broad wooden backrest tapers at the edges before flowing into the armrests and legs. Changes in thickness give the frame fuller contact surfaces and slender connections. Around the seat, generous openings reveal how the separate wooden elements join into a continuous outline

An off-centre support connects the circular top and base, giving the solid wood table a deliberately asymmetrical stance. Rounded edges and flowing joints soften the transitions between its three parts. Different heights and tabletop sizes allow the tables to overlap or stand apart, changing the composition as they move.

Mela’s wooden frame wraps around the upholstered backrest, making the junction between the two materials its defining detail. The design balances a slim structure with the fuller proportions of an upholstered seat and back. Six wood options, including pear and cherry, can be paired with leather or fabric upholstery.
