Born in 1970 in Split, Croatia, Zoran Jedrejcic discovered his passion for industrial design in an unexpected place – a high school art history class. A substitute teacher introduced him to the work of Enzo Mari, sparking a fascination that would shape his career.
He studied at the University of Zagreb’s School of Design before continuing his education at ISIA in Florence and later in Saarbrücken, Germany. In Florence, he had the extraordinary opportunity to learn directly from design legends including Enzo Mari, Andrea Branzi, and Paolo Deganello.
An early breakthrough came when his team won third prize in an international competition for Boeing Business Jets. The project caught the attention of Ettore Sottsass, who invited him to join his renowned Milan studio. After gaining invaluable experience at Sottsass Associati, Jedrejcic established his own practice, collaborating with international brands such as 3M, Artisan, Molteni&C, and Fratelli Guzzini.
His work has earned prestigious distinctions, including the Red Dot Best of the Best and iF Design Award.Yet his greatest achievement is surprisingly simple: after decades in the industry, he still genuinely loves what he does.
Zoran’s approach to furniture design is explored in Creative Balkans: Contemporary Furniture Design.

“Good design is sometimes evolution and sometimes revolution.”

Oversized wooden legs give the sofa’s soft, rounded body an unusually bold footing. Curved sides make the upholstered volume appear to lift away from its supports, playing with the perception of weight. Available in oak or walnut, the legs become a defining part of the composition rather than a detail hidden beneath it.

Stretched into a reclining profile, the leather seat rests within a slender wooden frame that leaves its curved outline exposed. The design’s elongated proportions bring it closer to a chaise longue than a conventional armchair. Walnut, oak or coloured ash give the supporting structure distinct expressions, with either an oil or lacquer finish.
